Today, Pokémon had their annual Pokémon Day presentation! There were the basic announcements for their mobile games and TCG, but then there was some big announcements for upcoming games.
To begin their presentation, Pokémon Concierge is getting new episodes. As a reminder, Pokémon Concierge is a series following Haru at the Pokémon Resort on a tropical island. This show is stop motion animation that looks beautiful! The new episodes are exclusively arriving on Netflix in September. Pokémon Concierge Episodes 1-4 are also currently available for viewing on Pokémon‘s Official YouTube channel until Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Continuing, Pokémon has updates on their current mobile games. Coming to Pokémon Unite this year, we have Suicune, Alolan Raichu, and Alcreamie coming in March, April, and soon respectively. Trainers Brandon, May, and Steven come to Pokémon Masters EX with Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, and Mega Rayquaza as their patners respectively. Pokémon TCG Pocket gets new special missions soon.
Furthermore, Pokémon has been in development of a new game that takes the turn-based battles of the mainline games in a more accessible game. Titled Pokémon Champions, this game takes battle mechanics from the mainline games. It will be available on mobile platforms and Nintendo Switch. It seems unknown if it will have a competitive VGC ranked, but it seems likely. Pokémon from the Pokémon HOME are usable in Pokémon Champions.
Quickly, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are getting a few events. Such events include tera raid events, mass outbreaks, and Rotom phone cases.
Finally, Pokémon Z-A… This game has sparked great excitement when it was announced in February of 2024. Since then, Pokémon has given a release window of late 2025. The story takes place in the Kalos region in Lumiose city, where Quasartico Inc. is running the high tech urban development plan. The narrator states, “This game offers a style of Pokémon battle not seen in previous titles” (Pokémon 2025). It seems, like Pokémon Legends Arceus, Pokémon Legends Z-A will have a unique battle system. Additionally, The started have been revealed to be Chikorita, Tepig, and Tododile, and as shown, mega evolution is back! It has been told that the player inhabits a Hotel ran by AZ from Pokémon X and Y, and he has his Floette.
In conclusion, Pokémon announced a lot today. In the coming days I will publish my own opinions and thoughts on the topics of Pokémon Champions and Pokémon Legends Z-A.
